UEFA Champions League - QF Draw
March 14, 2008
The Quarter-Finals draw of the UEFA Champions League has been done and I’m sure both Chelsea and Barcelona would be mighty pleased as they were drawn against less-fancied opponents. Barcelona will face Germany’s Schalke 04 whilst Chelsea would face off against Turkey’s Fenerbahce.
As was expected (feared?), two English clubs have been drawn to face each other and the unlucky ones are Arsenal and Liverpool who will play each other in the UCL for the first time. Manchester United have been drawn to play Roma - whom they had beaten comprehensively in last year’s QF’s.
The Draw:
| 1st leg: 01/02 April | 2nd leg: 08/09 April | |||
| 1 | Arsenal FC (ENG) | v | Liverpool FC (ENG) |
| 2 | AS Roma (ITA) | v | Manchester United FC (ENG) |
| 3 | FC Schalke 04 (GER) | v | FC Barcelona (ESP) |
| 4 | Fenerbahçe SK (TUR) | v | Chelsea FC (ENG) |

Chelsea again gets an easy draw. Liverpool v Arsenal is toughest, United too has a tough game. Barca is having an easy game too. But atleast one English side will make it to the finals.

Hmmm…What if Fenerbahce wins both their QF and SF matches? And Roma upset united?
Wild hopes apart, Barca and Chelsea have the advantage but remains to be seen if they get complacent!

We could see a Liverpool/Chelsea SF again this time. But i have no hopes from that Avram Grant fellow. Anyway, this is his last chance to redeem his job. Anything less than a trophy win would mean his job is gone.

Let´s say NO to Barcelona.
Sagen wir NEIN zu Barcelona.
