A rejuvenated Barcelona side beat 10-man Arsenal 2-1 to win the UEFA Champions League title and were crowned the Chamipons of Europe. It was nothing short of a scintillating comeback when they scored two goals in the space of 14 minutes to seal the victory.Late Second-half goals from Samuel Eto'o and Juliano Belletti sealed the match in Barca's favour after Sol Campbell put Arsenal ahead in the 36th minute. Arsenal were reduced to 10 men when goalkeeper Jens Lehmann was sent off for felling Eto'o, in the process becoming the first player to be sent off in a Chamions League Final. But their defence held on their own against the rampant Barcelona attack with Lehmann's replacement, Almunia bringing off some good saves. On the other side, Barca custodian Victor Valdes also had a busy time, having denied Henry and Ljungberg. The Second half saw Barca trying their level best to equalise and it came in the 76th minute when substitute Henrik Larsson set up the goal for Samuel Eto'o. Larsson was instrumental in the deciding goals also when his clever reverse ball found Juliano Belletti, who made no mistake and slotted the ball in and seal the Barcelona Victory.Though I didn't get to watch the telecast of the match, I was constantly updated by my brother over the phone! And I won the bet against him. Arsenal played well but it was not their night and though Arsene Wenger praised Barcelona for the victory, he was of the opinion that Eto'o was offside when he scored the equaliser! Even Thierry Henry was apparently miffed at some of the decisions of the referee. Well played Arsenal but tough luck! Hooray for Barcelona!!!
