A friend – Mr.Arul John a.k.a Lonewolf, who is quite a Linux enthusiast and likes to play around with various distros has recently gone through the paces of Installing the hottest flavor (IMO) of Linux – Ubuntu. The current release of Ubuntu is the Ver. 6.10 which is called Edgy Eft for some rare reason! Now as with any user-friendly OS’es, Ubuntu also had the option for upgradation form an older version to the newest one. However it turned out to be an ugly experience for many, incl. our in-house-Linux wannabe Mr.Lazybug.
Thus, the best option to get Edgy Eft up n’ running is to install it afresh. Lonewolf explains the process here. Go through the thread and find out the process including how to burn the ISO onto a CD , creating a LiveCD, Verifying the LiveCD and the actual Installation process.
