Chelsea join them…

Chelsea will meet Manchester United in an all-English final of the UEFA Champions League in Moscow on May 21st. They beat EPL rivals Liverpool 3-2 (4-3 on aggregate) to reach their first ever UCL Final. In what was a pulsating encounter between the teams, the more resilient team came out the winner. John Arne Riise’s first-leg own goal now looks even more costly in hindsight!

Didier Drogba opened the scoring in the first half and Fernando Torres equalised in the second. The match went into extra-time wherein Chelsea had a goal disallowed for offside, then grabbed a penalty which Frank Lampard tucked away and then Drogba thumped in a third. Ryan Babel pulled one back for Liverpool but it was too little too late!

The Blues will now play the Red Devils on the 21st of May. Exactly 10 days after the Premier League title is decided. The EPL-winner will be much buoyed for the UCL Final whereas the loser will be much more keen to redeem themselves and grab some silverware. I sure hope both the trophies go to the same team. You know which team I mean….

Bring on Chelsea!!!

  1. in ur dreams 🙂
……………Chelsea is gonna win UCL……….wait and watch

  2. Been watching the second last games of the English Premier League and I must say – Man Utd looked on form on Saturday. Liverpool, although they won – looked a bit lack luster.

Will wait for tomorrow’s bank holiday match to see how Chelsea look. Barring injuries – the Champions League Final between Man Utd and Chelsea in Moscow should be great – I can’t wait!
