GMail, Loading

I’m sure many GMail users would have seen the ubiquitous “Loading” message that pops up in the right-top corner of the browser window while using GMail. It generally pops-up to indicate some work is going on in the background….maybe fetching a message or returning back to the inbox from another folder or even upon deleting spam messages. But today I noticed a totally different “loading” message in GMail:

Loading GMail

This, as I signed-in into my GMail account. There was also a ‘Loading Standard View | Load basic HTML (for slower connections)’ message at the bottom-right corner. Maybe they’ve changed the loading-sequence and this is a way to tell the users that “hey, we’re doing the best we can…maybe you should get a faster connection” πŸ˜›

  1. As far as I am concerned, I am willing to wait for those extra few seconds to use the best email service on this planet. πŸ˜‰

But still, let’s hope they are working hard to improve the loading times. It takes ages to open your inbox on a slower connection.

  2. @Harsh: That rocks Maan! I promptly uninstalled the G-Skins extension and got the stylish one. Tx.

@Krishna: They’ve said so on their Blog abt improving the loading speeds. Hope it fires up even faster πŸ˜›
