Video: Abhinav Bindra’s Gold Medal Ceremony, Indian National Anthem plays at the Olympics

Something that would make all us Indians very very proud. Ace Shooter Abhinav Bindra has won India’s first-ever solo Olympic Gold Medal. In the Men’s 10M Air rifle event, he shot a 10.8 out of a possible 10.9 in his final shot (after a series of 100, 99, 100, 98, 100 & 99) to take his combined score to 700.5 [Read about the scoring pattern here] and thereby clinch the Gold Medal. The previous best showing by an Indian in a solo event on the Olympic stage was Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore’s Silver Medal at Athens (2004).

See the Video of the medal-presentation ceremony here. The Indian National Anthem plays at the ceremony, a proud moment for all Indians, I’m sure.

Take a Bow, Abhinav Bindra!

  4. Indeed, a great feeling. Thanks to DD Sports, KT & YT for the Vid😛

  5. Where can I find the video? It is no longer available because of some stupid copyright thingo.

  6. @Anjaniputra: You can catch an alternate Vid right in my post, above.🙂

  7. Hey, who’s the retard who keeps removing the video from Youtube? What kind of copyright is involved? If you get the video, can you host it on liveleak.com or some other non-US server?

  8. YCR: if you get the video again, try to put it on vimeo.com. That site doesn’t take down videos for flimsy reasons.

And thanks for the nice posts!

  9. Bah! This Video was also removed👿

    Mebbe DD Sports are complaining!

@Arul: Yep. Vimeo also doesn’t have the 10Min limit or filesize limit.🙂
