German Grand Prix – Saturday Qualifying

I am oh-so-pissed at Star Sports for choosing not to telecast the Saturday Qualifying session of the 2006 German Formula 1 Grand Prix . They instead chose to telecast a run-of-the-mill cricket match being played out by Bangladesh & Zimbabwe .

Kimi Raikkonen

I thus missed out on the first pole for McLaren’s Kimi Raikkonen at the hockenheim circuit. The finn lapped around the track in 1 Min 14 secs, just ahead of the Ferrari duo of Michael Schumacher & Felipe Massa.

McLaren driver Kimi Raikkonen took his first pole position of the season at the German Grand Prix. The Finn set a lap of one minute 14.070 seconds to beat Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari by just over 0.2secs.

Schumacher’s title rival Fernando Alonso could manage only seventh place as his Renault team struggled. Ferrari’s Felipe Massa was third with the revived Hondas of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello next, sandwiching Renault’s Giancarlo Fisichella.

And with the Renaults as far back as that, It looks all pretty for Michael. Particularly with Massa just behind him acting as a show-stopper & party-pooper 👿 And though Kimi has the Pole, I doubt whether the McLaren has the reliability or the speed to take the Chequered Flag! It all depends on Fuel loads & tyres and should be a cracker of a race! Go Kimi Go

Radio Mirchi now on Visual Radio

Radio Mirchi Now on VisualRadio

I’ll be Frank here! Ever since Radio City launched in Hyderabad, I haven’t tuned into Mirchi. Maybe because I like listening to Hindi songs a lot more than telugu songs. But whereas City is lacking in exposure or publicity, Mirchi is going all-guns-blaring to make iself seen (or heard!). Starting July 25th, Radio Mirchi will be available ‘Visually’ off the Mobile handsets(Only Delhi initially)! I know that it is already available on Mobiles with FM receivers (just like mine!) but the difference here will be in the visuals. I presume some sorta graphics & interactivity will be involved! But hey, relax…it will work ONLY on GPRS enabled handsets 😐 And that will happen via VisualRadio.

X-Men Trilogy : Back To Back

X-Men Trilogy

Having nothing better to do and with the paucity of good programmes on da idiot box, I was tempted to watch one of those DVD’s that i’d accumulated over time. So i reached out for the least-watched of them (nay! Unwatched is a better word!) and that was the X-Men Trilogy…..X-Men , X2 and X-Men:The Last Stand…all in one single DVD. And I watched all of’em back to back 🙂

Lunch @ Little Penang

After a long long hiatus from eating out with colleagues, we set out today afternoon to reinvigorate our zest for some nice lunch and found ourselves at the building in Banjara Hills which housed two equally ok far-eastern hotels. While Little Penang was the well-established one offering traditional Malay & Thai Cuisine, Kafulok was kinda a new-kid-on-the-block, offering a predominantly chinese cuisine. We plumped for the charm and ambience of Little Penang and promptly trooped in.

One major grouse against this eatery was the absolute lack of any sort of Air Conditioning! There was just a single pedestal fan to cater to an eating place of almost 70 odd . Food was kinda on the good side with an equal balance between Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Offerings. Most eastern eateries tend to lean towards the Non-Veg items whilst leaving us Veggies high & dry :(. But Little Penang didn’t disappoint us. Starters included a choice of either Veg or Chicken Manchow Soup with Chilli Tofu, Spicy Potato Fries & Spring Rolls for accompaniments. Main course included Hakka Noodles and Steamed Rice with 6 non-veg curries and 4 veg ones. And don’ ask me the names coz i don’ remember’em :|. Desserts included an assortment of pastries, Jelly, freshly cut vegetables and some really nice Apple Tart. All of this for a very reasonable 150 bucks was too good an offer to be ignored!

Lousy Saturday

What else can it be when there is no power for half of the day 👿 As it is the morning was ruined by the calls of the maid as early as 9:30 AM!!! That after a hectic week when I had to work outta moi skin 😐

Then the forenoon was eaten away by a pretty moronic film that went by the name of Chup Chup Ke! Filmed by acclaimed director Priyadarsan, the movie was a total waste of moi time & money!

To top it all there had to be a power failure that continued from late afternoon till 9 PM in the night! A so-so breakfast and a hearty dinner were the sole sources of solace in an otherwise lousy day! Not to mention the Cornettos & Butterscotches I had
